Young Scientist Award
The Association to recognise, nurture and encourage talent and scientific work in community health has instituted awards and is hereby calling for nominations/applications. All nomination/applications should be proposed by a life member and seconded by another life member along with the bio data and consent of the nominee.
1. Best Community Health Professional Award
Instituted in 1997 by Dr. N Shantharam. The nominee should have achieved distinction in academic or service in Public Health/PSM/Community Medicine and practising the profession for at least ten years.
2. KACH Silver Jubilee Award
Initiated in 2013 by Drs C Shivaram, D Gopinath, S Pruthvish, N Girish and Hemanth T. The nominee shall be an individual who has actively contributed to advancing the discipline of Public Health / Community Health including those from NGO/CBO background. Membership not required.
3. KACH Prolific Community Health Literature Award
Initiated in 2013 by Drs B G Parasuramalu, S Pruthvish, H R Raveendra Reddy and Renuka P. The nominee shall be an individual who has contributed to and/or popularised public health literature and actively involved in health promotion initiatives/activities.
4. Sri. B. M. Patil Memorial Oration Award
Instituted in 1998 by Sri B M Patil Medical College. The nominee shall be an eminent person (usually resident of Karnataka) who has made significant contribution to community health. Must be distinguished and reputed in the profession.
5. Young Scientist Award in Community Health
Instituted in 1998 by Drs. Y Chandrashekar, K Suresh and Vijay Ganjoo. The nominee shall be a health professional aged less than 45 years, actively pursuing Public Health/PSM/Community Medicine and a life member of KACH for at least 1 year.
Important Notes:
- Nominee must be under 45 years of age for the Young Scientist Award.
- Nomination must be proposed & seconded by KACH life members.
- Nomination should include acceptance and resume in the recommended format.
- Canvassing will lead to disqualification.
- Decision of the Awards & Executive Committee is final.
